Yearly internationl course (UNESCO  and GFZ sponsored) in seismological observatory practice (since 1996).

Project responsibility:  Several projects building up and operating the National Norwegian Seismic Network (14 mill NOK since 1984).

Earthquake disaster reduction and seismological network operation in Central America andAfrica. Projects sponsored by Norad (7 mill NOK since 1991-2000

Several projects doing research in various aspects of seismology 2 mill NOK since 1986).

Other responsibilities: Director of Institute of Solid Earth Physics 1988-1991, 1995-1997

Member of National Research Council geoscience committee since 1990-94.
